Well, it’s been a long-time coming, but here’s the brand new and only slightly improved Budget Reviews website! Really, the more I look at it, everything’s pretty much the same as it was before, at least as far as navigation is concerned. Well, aside from the search bar moving up to the main menu (something I’m still not sure I even like). It mainly serves as a testament to my very limited (or nonexistent) website design capabilities. I suppose this should be more like a TBR 2.1.
Whatever it’s called, we’re happy to finally have it live! The main difference is on the backend: I used a new theme that will be much easier to update going forward. What does that mean for you? Nothing, really. So I guess the suspenseful buildup was more hype than anything else.
It hasn’t really been tested by anyone but me, so let me know if there are any issues you face during your visit. My main concern is the readability of the color scheme; if you have troubles with it (i.e. background color and text too similar) please feel free to comment. We don’t want to disappoint; we need all the visitors we can get!
Speaking of disappointing, one drawback is that any comment posted between early July and yesterday will have been lost forever. My sincerest apologies for that. I’ll try to figure out a workaround, but I’m pretty sure there are none. RIP to all those voices who are lost forever to the sands of time. I hope you will revisit and resubmit your comments…this place just isn’t the same without them.
One final note: New reviews are on the way very shortly; as in, later this week. I was hoping to have one or two ready for the grand re-opening, but big changes in life have prevented that from happening. Still, I’m dedicated to bringing you enlightening reviews of cheap and/or off-brand products, so that you can make informed purchasing decisions that affect your hard-earned money. You rely on me, and I cannot – and will not – let you down. This is my life’s calling, and I won’t let personal issues get in the way of that.
I hope you all enjoy your stay! And be sure to bookmark this page so you can stay up-to-date on the latest critiques and rants.
Warmest Regards,
Aaron
Glad you are back. Life just hasn’t been the same without your reviews.
Haha, thank you. I figure I deprived everyone long enough.
